Let’s be Honest. Last Month Was Cray-Cray
But over the course of the pandemic we’ve developed a capacity to pivot when plans change, act quickly when they do, then get ready to pivot again. Many of you have asked how you can help during such uncertain times. Consider joining our monthly giving program – the Pinky Promise Society – and care for a child with the gift of your resources.
Virtual Solstice Soirée: Success!
Hosted by two of our favorites (Jim Mains and Temple Lentz), patrons tuned in from all across the Northwest for this live-streamed online auction fundraiser. Together we raised over $33,000 for our Safe & Loved campaign , and one lucky foster family walked away with a trip to Cancun, Mexico!!
Ready and Waiting
With 90% of our offices now open, we have been working hard to mobilize volunteers mindfully. Many volunteers have come back to us, eager to help, but the tidal wave we were expecting just hasn’t happened yet. Washington social workers continue to work from home when possible, and are now experiencing furlough as the state braces for budget cuts. ‘Hotspots’ of coronavirus continue to pop up, keeping us ever-vigilant – waiting, but ready.
Virtual Summit: In the Books
Team Leaders gathered for our Virtual Summit to receive important training on everything from Diversity and Inherent Bias to Trauma Informed Care Practices.
It wasn’t quite the same as being in the same room together, but it was a close second!
