Monthly is Mighty
Did you know that Office Moms & Dads has a special community of dedicated monthly donors called the Pinky Promise Society? For as little as $15 per month, your consistent and reliable gifts allow us to plan ahead, purchasing therapeutic toys and extra snacks for children entering foster care, and bolstering training resources for our caring companions. Right now we are aiming to grow our Pinky Promise Society by 30 new members. Would you please consider joining and/or forwarding this email to friends and family? Thank you for your continued kindness and support – monthly is mighty!
A Message from our Executive Director
On the eve of Black History Month, I received an email that would change everything and nothing all at once. We received our daughter’s DNA results from a popular ancestry website, unlocking an altogether unknown reality that simultaneously always and never existed… Read the full blog post.
OMD in the Community
Last month, Office Moms & Dads continued a wonderful partnership with Our Giving Table and Papa Murphys, handing out hundreds of free pizzas to our amazing Vancouver-area foster families and caregivers! 🍕 Morgan, Miss Clark County’s Outstanding Teen and Emma, Miss Greater Vancouver’s Outstanding Teen generously donated totes to well deserving children in foster care and passed them out along with the pizza too! We’re incredibly grateful for this opportunity to help feed our community. Many thanks to the Outstanding Teens, Papa Murphy’s, and Our Giving Table!

Anti-bias/Anti-racism
We are excited to share that the topic of our Annual Summit Training this month for Volunteer Coordinators will be “Anti-bias/Anti-racism.” Each Volunteer Coordinator is receiving a free book to explore these important topics in their own lives and experience, as well as within the child welfare system. Additionally, the OMD Annual Training Video will center around these topics and will be made available to all volunteers in March. Here is a glimpse at some of the texts we are currently reading and the topics that will be part of our upcoming Leadership Training Workshop.
